Under supervision, manages and supports desktop enterprise solutions for hardware, operating systems, patch management, anti-virus, software distribution, and mobile device management and contributes to the design and implementation of core end-user technology standards.
Essential Job Functions

- Builds, packages, distributes and deploys / installs applications to desktop environments.
- Engineers, manages and maintains portions of a large infrastructure of hardware and software (operating systems and applications) distributed over numerous user sites.
- Under supervision, assists in the testing of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
- Troubleshoots and resolves user applications issues; reports anticipated issues to supervisor.
- Assists in the analysis and creation of applications deployment and management strategies for PCs, tablets and mobile devices.
- Assists in the analysis of technology risks and security risks.
- Manages or oversees the management of selected systems upgrades and improvements via application of patches.
- Contributes to user accessibility, stability and security in accordance with District policy standards.
- Contributes to core documentation, including manuals for standard operating procedures, best practices or mitigation plans.

Work is performed in a typical office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment including computers.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in information technology, computer science or a closely related field and four years of professional level experience managing and / or supporting desktop enterprise solutions.
Substitution
Graduate study in the designated fields may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years. Full-time paid experience managing and / or supporting desktop enterprise solutions may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A Microsoft MCITP, MCSE or VMware VCP certification related to desktop or client support may be substituted for one year of the required education or experience.
