General Summary
The Digital Archivist is responsible for the management, preservation, and accessibility of digital film assets at LAIKA, including DCDMs, DCPs, and other digital assets received from post-production houses. The Digital Archivist will ensure that all materials are cataloged, stored securely, and readily available for various departments, while maintaining the integrity and quality of the assets.
Job Functions
- Manage the ingestion, organization, and archiving of digital film assets, ensuring accurate metadata and adherence to naming conventions.
- Perform quality control on incoming and outgoing digital assets, verifying integrity and completeness before distribution.
- Work with vendors to retrieve and verify post-production materials including DI, DCDMs, and DCPs.
- Work with LAIKA archivists and production teams to archive digital production assets including storyboards, concept artwork, scripts, etc.
- Update and maintain internal digital asset management systems, ensuring they are user-friendly and accessible for various stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing materials for internal and external presentations including departmental reviews, film screenings, and promotional events.
- Support marketing initiatives by providing archived content and coordinating with various departments on media needs.
- Communicate effectively with the appropriate departments to ensure all materials comply with studio policies and clearance requirements.
- Stay current on industry best practices for digital archiving and asset management, and implement improvements as needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation for workflows and processes related to digital asset management.
- Assist in daily operations and other duties as assigned.
