Job Description
Overview : Coordinates the ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping of materials, supplies, and equipment for the maintenance department by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Compiles data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports and writes, types, or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records.
- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming stock. Responsible for Stockroom.
- Keeps back order file in established sequence and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
- Compiles stock control records and information such as characteristics of items in storage, and current conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
- Prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
- Compares nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
- Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity.
- Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
- Maintains records for repair orders and status of repairs for pumps, motors, etc.
- In conjunction with purchasing, confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as form, fit, function, price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
- Prepares purchase requisitions.
- Maintain and administer PMWI files.
- Prepare maintenance lube charts.
- Prepares shipping paperwork for repairable items.
- Packages repairable items for shipment to repair facilities.

Education and / or Experience :
Three to five years related experience. Associate’s degree preferred.

The Maintenance Planner interacts with historic machinery throughout the facility which often involves proximity to heat, noise, debris, conveyance systems and other potentially dangerous equipment. The Planner will encounter high levels of floor and overhead traffic due to material transportation throughout the facility which can cause high levels of vibration and airborne disturbances. There are areas of paved and unpaved walkway, active shipping lanes and occasionally standing water to be cautious of.
