DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as senior project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact. May have project management responsibilities on multiple projects, particularly those with high complexity and / or risk. Responsible for successful completion of projects, including schedule, budget, and profitability.
- Develops estimating, pricing, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
- Develops plans and specifications, performs analysis, and provides reports to meet project requirements for design and construction of new power delivery facilities or operation and maintenance of existing facilities. Utilizes computer software to create detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts.
- Responsible for work-in-progress, ensures accurate client billings, and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on assigned projects.
- Provides technical support, guidance, and input in the resolution of equipment and operational problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects on a project.
- Directs project team, providing training, technical support, and mentoring.
- Participates in and ensures QC / QA procedures are followed. Maintains accurate design standards and procedures in assigned work.
- Develops, fosters, and maintains client relationships. Pursues repeat or follow-up work with current clients. Collaborates with Marketing and Business Development staff to respond to new business opportunities, including engaging in preparation of proposals, interviews, and presentations.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with other Practice Leaders, Market Leaders, Department Managers, technical staff, and support services staff.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
