Position Overview :

The Designer will play a key role in conceptualizing and creating innovative designs that align with the Dress The Population brand identity. This role requires a strong understanding of contemporary fashion, excellent technical skills, and the ability to translate trends into commercially successful collections. Based in our Dallas office, the Designer will collaborate closely with the Chief Creative Officer and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products that meet both creative and business goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Design Development :

• Create sketches and technical designs for collections, focusing on contemporary fashion aesthetics.
• Develop cohesive collections that align with the Dress The Population brand identity and market demands.
• Translate seasonal trends and customer insights into wearable, on-brand designs.

Trend Research :

Conduct market and trend research to identify key silhouettes, fabrics, colors, and details for upcoming collections.

Stay updated on industry innovations and competitive landscapes to ensure designs remain fresh and relevant.

Technical Design Collaboration :

Work closely with technical designers to ensure accurate fit and construction of samples and final garments.

Creation of detailed tech packs, including fabric specifications, trim details, and construction notes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

Partner with the production and merchandising teams to ensure designs meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.

Work with marketing teams to support product launches and campaigns with creative input.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in contemporary fashion design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.

Proven experience designing collections for a contemporary women’s fashion brand is highly preferred.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and fabrics.

Experience creating detailed tech packs and working with production teams.

Highly creative with a strong attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
