Position Summary :  The Field Mechanic position works at various locations. The position requires experience in engine diagnostics, chassis, and hydraulic systems. The position may also require travel to another state depending on customer demands.

Essential Functions :

• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy on road / off road equipment used to service the utility industry.
• Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance on a job site in various weather conditions.
• Troubleshoot / diagnose equipment breakdowns in a timely safe manner and repair as needed.
• Must be able to learn and understand safe work practices for equipment set up and grounding procedures for equipment repairs that may be near energized systems.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
• Does all other related work as required to complete the job.

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
