ABOUT PARK BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND VISIT GALVESTON

In 1963, the citizens of Galveston voted to create a specialized unit of government called the Park Board of Trustees of the City of Galveston. The organization is responsible for overseeing Galveston's tourism efforts, Galveston Island Beach Patrol (GIPB) and Coastal Zone Management (CZM). The Park Board is funded primarily through Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) and beach user fees for the six parks that they manage. Tourism pays for tourism as no sales or property tax is collected by the Park Board. The nine-member board is comprised of volunteer residents with diverse business backgrounds. Each is required to serve at least two years and must also serve on one of the Park Board's advisory committees.

We are on a mission to promote and support tourism on Galveston Island in order to foster an environment that establishes a great place to live, work, and visit. Our vision is to create a tourist destination that promises an exciting variety of experiences and a high quality of life for residents.

The island offers natural resources, attractions, events, and heritage that we wish to share with the residents and visitors alike. Our employees are dedicated to inviting all to come and experience the island that we care so much about.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN RV PARK ATTENDANT / RECREATION CUSTOMER SERVICE REP

As an RV Park Attendant / Recreation Customer Service Rep, you spend each day helping guests at the gorgeous Dellanera RV Park. Galveston's premier beachfront camping site requires a team of dedicated employees to oversee reservations, keep the grounds pristine, and ensure facilities are properly maintained. That's where you come in! You're the first point of contact for visitors, helpfully responding to inquiries over the phone, via email, and in person. A quick learner, you've become proficient with the reservation software and capably book reservations for guests. Visitors appreciate your exceptional customer service and hospitality skills as you collect payments, accurately process credit card and cash transactions, and issue receipts. At the end of each shift, you reconcile total sales, balance the till, and complete a daily report.

In addition to interacting with guests, you also take accountability for the organization and tidiness of the office, gift shop, and common areas. You keep an eye on inventory in the gift shop and let management know when supplies are running low. Sometimes you suggest clever ideas for items that would sell well in our gift shop! You take a personal sense of pride in this oceanfront park, and you're proactive about maintaining cleanliness by mopping, cleaning toilets, and taking garbage to the dumpster. When you notice an area that requires repairs, you submit a work order request using our maintenance software program. You love having a job that keeps you busy and active, and you couldn't ask for a more beautiful location to spend your days !
