We are hiring for a Geospatial Analyst to contribute to our Surveying operations on a full-time, direct basis at our Hampton Roads office in Virginia Beach, VA. This person will work under our Geospatial Manager while assisting with the coordination / execution of a variety of projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contribute technical expertise and perform data processing for our Geospatial & Survey Mapping projects to achieve company goals (including profitability, safety, quality, and operational excellence).
- Prepare deliverables of survey and geospatial needs/projects.
- Conduct aerial mapping, laser scanning, GIS analysis, and UAS flights for topographic and/or other mapping services (as part of Survey projects as well as in support of Engineering projects).
- Prepare plans, details, reports, work orders, and project descriptions.
- Ensure that project deadlines and scope are met in an accurate manner.
- Contribute to strategies that will expand departmental capabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients & co-workers.
- Work in the field (on an as-needed basis).
- Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- At least one year of professional experience working in Surveying, Aerial Mapping, and/or GIS.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Credential.
This person will be expected to work in the field, as needed, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of advanced training in Geomatics, Surveying, and/or GIS; Associate’s degree (or higher) is a plus!
- Relevant certification (; GISP, ASPRS credential, etc.) is a plus!
- Experience working with Aerial Photogrammetry / LiDAR / UAS (drone systems) is preferred.
- Proven expertise with modern Survey methods, best practices, and technologies.
- Proficiency with relevant technologies / tools ( CADD, HDLS, GIS, etc.); experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, RTS (Robotic Total Stations), GPS, Leica Geosystems hardware & software, Cardinal Systems VR Mapping, Pix4D, and/or Global Mapper a plus!
- Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications, especially with MS-Excel.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
