Job Title : Facilities Specialist
Reports To : District Facilities Manager Operations Coordinator
Supervises : N / A
Status : Full-Time, 12 Month Non-Exempt
Effective for the 2024-2025 school year
Position Summary :
Spero Academy is looking for a responsible Facilities Specialist to maintain and protect our facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. Overseeing the safety and maintenance of property and ensuring that the property is in compliance with all applicable regulations. Recommending and coordinating
improvements to the property as needed to ensure a safe, functional, and appealing space.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintaining a safe environment with proper lighting, signage, and disability access
- Making general repairs and upkeep to buildings
- Assist Facilities Manager in maintaining a maintenance schedule
- Oversight of contractors and inspecting completed jobs as needed
- Resolving complaints, problems, and requests from staff
- Maintain consistent communication with Facilities Manager with maintenance issues
- Assisting with emergency response and evacuations
- Inspecting the building frequently for signs of damage or wear
- Ability to repair / troubleshoot building troubles
- Helping with sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and other cleaning duties as needed
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all staff
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
HVAC, Security Systems, electrical systems, Boiler License preferred
Microsoft Office suite
