Wentworth Institute of TechnologyBoston, MA, USJob Description Summary Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants for an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Health Educator .
The Health Educator is a part-time position during the fall and spring semesters of the full academic year. (Off during the summer) .
The Health Educator will support the implementation of the Foundational Wellness curriculum. The Health Educator will contribute to the Office of Health Promotion’s Fall and Spring programming calendar. They will collaborate with the Associate Director of Health Promotion and Education to organize active and passive programs that educate on general wellness initiatives and independently create their own programs and marketing campaigns.
The Health Educator is also responsible for prevention and intervention initiatives related to alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs. They will meet with students who have violated the Student Code of Conduct to teach a multi-session Drug Education class and an Alcohol Education class. An additional educational intervention for violation of the Code of Conduct will be to meet with students individually for BASICS appointments and mandated drug assessments.
Housed within the Center for Wellness, the Office of Health Promotion and Education is dedicated to helping students seamlessly incorporate wellness into their lifestyle by educating and empowering them to introduce healthy behaviors they can practice throughout their lives. The Office of Health Promotion and Education organizes and executes a variety of prevention and intervention initiatives. In terms of prevention, this office provides education and programming on a variety of health and wellness topics including, but not limited to, alcohol, drugs, sexual health, sexual violence, nutrition, body image, sleep and stress management.
