POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Operations and Management Consultant Manager, this position assists with oversight of various crime reporting data collections. This position is responsible for research and analysis related to the data collections and/or the associated systems, procedures, rules/guidelines, and processes. This position must meet and maintain a National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

• Providing assistance and recommendations with oversight of various crime reporting systems;
• Monitoring multiple databases to ensure systems are operational and providing technical support as necessary;
• Ensuring information is accurate and complies with requirements;
• Providing on-going quality assurance by identifying problem trends and recommending workable resolutions for related systems;
• Participating in testing for implemented changes, upgrades and new functionality;
• Conducting thorough research, and analysis related to data collections and/or the systems, procedures, rules/guidelines, and processes associated in their collection/storage;
• Collaborating with internal and external customers to gather documentation required to formulate recommendations within defined timeframes;
• Assisting management in the creation and maintenance of operational procedures to ensure section materials are up to date and available to section members; and
• Serving as a liaison with crime reporting data contributors.

• Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
• Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
• Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
• Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
• Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
• Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;
• Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments;
• Ability to communicate effectively; and
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

• $47,668.14

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
