Under the general direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II demonstrates deep technical knowledge and serves as the network security lead. The incumbent has a wide range of responsibilities including project management, planning, developing and implementing technical solutions essential to the overall mission of the Employment Training Panel (ETP), and undertakes a variety of roles, from senior technical lead in security solutions and network infrastructure, to serving in a key role of ETP's Enterprise Architecture.The incumbent maintains and enhances the ETP Information Technologies according to customer specifications and to meet stringent and evolving security requirements.
The Information Technology Specialist II works closely with stakeholders, including executive management, the Information Technology Unit, and ETP staff to support the agency concentrating on security and network documentation. The Specialist will work in conjunction with the ETP Information Security Officer (ISO) on Agency-wide recommendations to improve security posture. The incumbent participates and provides technical support and knowledge to support the IT and Operations Strategic Plans.
Participation in telework is subject to the Department's policies and supervisor's approval.
The job is located in Sacramento. This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under ETP's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
