If you are a talented and experienced Production Material Controller, David Aplin Group has the right opportunity for you! Our client is looking for someone who will be coordinating and expediting the workflow and material to production according to the requirements of project schedules, maintaining the required traceability, and the prompt settlement of quality problems.

This is a 6-month contract opportunity, with the potential for conversion to a permanent full-time role, and is available to candidates in Montreal, QC.

Responsibilities:
  • Release production orders as per schedule
  • Prepare and prioritize kits & re-kit and update the status for production meetings
  • Ensure parts are kitted and/or available on the floor as per the manufacturing needs
  • Identify and publish production material shortages
  • Expedite internally critical material and tooling items to ensure the AI&T plan is respected
  • Follow-up on activities in different work centers (incoming inspection, surface finish, inter-departmental, tollgate, and test) work and provide priorities
  • Manage material as per Kanban
  • Ensure bulk material availability
  • Ensure transactions are organized and reflect activities
  • Implement changes as per ECN, NCR, etc.
  • Support traceability requirements (tollgates, ECN implementation, etc.)
  • Follow-up of NCR, MRB on material and assemblies
  • Ensure completion of contract deliverables and production order closures in ERP
  • Prepare shipping papers
  • Provide reports and reviews as per program requirement
  • Suggest improvement opportunities for material flow
  • Can provide functional guidance to less experienced personnel
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in any business-related area
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in material/production planning environment. A combination of other education/experience will also be considered
  • Bilingual in French and English (verbal & written)
  • A security clearance will be required from the successful candidate
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite
  • Good understanding of product nomenclature notions, planning concepts, and one ERP system
  • Ability to problem-solve and decision making
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Customer focus (internal and external)
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changes
  • Capacity to handle documentation and detailed data accurately
  • May have to support various work shifts
