Job description

Raw Materials Planner

Mark Anthony Group is an entrepreneurial drinks company, built from the ground up by thinking differently, innovating and doing the unexpected. Our company is rooted in family values, a bold vision and relentless determination to continuously raise the bar and make a positive difference in consumers' lives. Founded in 1972, we've grown organically from a one-person import wine business into an international drinks company whose hallmarks include a portfolio of luxury wineries and iconic beverage brands, including White Claw Hard Seltzer, Mike's Hard Lemonade, and Cayman Jack.

Role Purpose:

The Raw Materials Planner (MRP) is responsible for planning, ordering, and managing raw material inventory to support the Glendale production plan. This role ensures materials are available to meet production requirements while balancing inventory targets, supplier performance, warehouse capacity, and working capital objectives.

As a key partner to Operations, Procurement, Central Planning, Quality, Warehouse, and suppliers, the Raw Materials Planner proactively identifies and mitigates supply risks, maintains planning parameters, and ensures reliable execution of the material supply plan.

Accountabilities & Impact:

  • Plan and manage assigned raw material commodities to support the production schedule.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, supplier releases, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels, material coverage, and supply risks to ensure continuity of production.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate material shortages, supplier constraints, and delivery issues.
  • Maintain planning parameters, master data, and ERP/MRP system accuracy.
  • Partner with Procurement, Operations, Warehouse, Quality, and Central Planning to resolve issues and improve service.
  • Support inventory optimization, working capital objectives, and excess and obsolete reduction efforts.
  • Maintain key planning metrics and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experiences Needed:

  • Associate degree required in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 25 years of experience required in materials planning, production planning, supply planning, procurement, scheduling, inventory management, warehouse operations, or a closely related supply chain role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Food and beverage manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems required or strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience managing supplier communication, purchase orders, inventory levels, and material availability preferred.

This position is well suited for you if you have/are:

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, material requirements planning (MRP), and supply planning concepts.
  • Bachelor degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to prioritize work and make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
  • APICS/ASCM or other supply chain certification preferred.
