The Millwright III in Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for building, installing, repairing and troubleshooting production equipment. Millwrights may also be called upon to make repairs to the building or any of the facility infrastructures such as natural gas, water, or compressed air piping. Management may assign additional duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Will use a variety of hand tools to repair equipment including but not limited to : wrenches, pliers, hammer, power drill, screw driver, punches, sander, and torque wrench.
Will read and interpret engineering fabrication and assembly drawings to build or repair assemblies, fabricate parts / components, or install equipment
Will perform plumbing tasks from PVC, steel, or copper using standard plumbing techniques, unstop drains, operate threader , and set universal dies
Will install, maintain, and troubleshoot pneumatic systems and perform the replacement of damaged or malfunctioning pneumatic components including but not limited to : manual valves, solenoid valves, running air lines, filters, lubricators, and regulators
Will install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical components and drive systems including gear reducers, bearings, couplings, chain drives, gear drives, and belt drives
Will perform proper alignment practices for both belt drives, chain drives, and power transmission couplings using laser alignment tools and tensioners
Will layout holes, angles, and dimensions on materials to build assemblies using squares, straight edge, tape measure, and hole punches
Will perform assembly techniques using nuts, bolts, screws, pins, set screws and adhesives
Will perform precision measurements using dial calipers, steel rules, dial indicator, and pi tape
Will weld carbon using stick or wire welding, correctly set temperatures, and prepare steel
Will weld stainless components and TIG and can operate a plasma cutter and torch
Will safely operate band saw, drill press, hand grinder, belt sander, cutoff saw, hammer drill, and other handheld power tools
Will correctly account for allocated time by individual job in SAP to ensure accurate labor costing
ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE :
Must have high school diploma or GED
Assessed in reading at an 8th grade equivalency or higher, mathematics at a 10.1 or higher based on the TABE exam through our Continuous Education and Development Program
Must have either a Machine Tool Technology (MTT) associate's degree from a two-year accredited institution or Welding Certificate or verifiable 8-10 years' experience as a Millwright or Welder / Fabricator
Must pass the Wiesen Mechanical test
Must pass a hands on test
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED :
Must have or be able to receive certification in material handling equipment operation
Must have or be able to receive certification in man-lift operation
Must have or be able to receive certification in Lock-Out Tag-Out training. This will include Confined Space Entry (CSE) and Group LOTO procedures
Must have or be able to receive certification in mobile equipment operation
