What You’ll Do

As Nursing Lab Manager you’ll play a key role in coordinating the non-instructional activities in the nursing laboratories.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for :

Prepare lab set up for lab activities and practice in coordination with the faculty. Coordinate all laboratory functions including skills laboratory activities and student practice activities. Participate and / or develop critical thinking scenarios for use in the nursing skills laboratory. Promote problem-solving and critical thinking skills in the learning and practice of nursing skills.

Assume responsibility and provide supervision of students in the laboratory setting. Create and maintain a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning and reflective thinking. Serve as a resource mentor for remediation of students identified by faculty. Maintain records of student attendance and skill performance in the laboratory.

Monitor equipment and supplies for replacement, repairs, and disposal. Order equipment and supplies for skills laboratory within the allowed budget. Ensure maintenance of an orderly, clean, and organized skills laboratory.

Participate in faculty team meetings and in nursing program committees. Participate with faculty in development of course objectives, course daily laboratory activities, and evaluation of total curriculum and revision of program policies. Communicate with the dean, and instructors regarding student concerns and issues and student progress as appropriate. Assist with orientation of adjunct faculty to role / responsibilities in clinical and laboratory settings.

Remain current in the assigned subject matter and techniques of effective instruction through recent clinical experience and / or professional development.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have :

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, medical-surgical nursing

At least three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct care

Bonus points if you have :

Recent successful teaching and / or clinical experience

Recent acute care experience

Experience with innovative teaching methodologies in addition to traditional lecture mode
