Job Description
Solvere Technical Group is seeking a Naval Architect to provide technical support and documentation for ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, integration, stability analysis, hydrodynamic and seakeeping properties based in Washington, D.C. Familiarity with naval architecture software to perform ship and design analyses. Evaluate systems and equipment, develop, and analyze requirements, perform studies and documentation relating to hull form, stability, weights, structures, and design. You will develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats, perform structural analysis and design using ISO and class society standards. Familiarity with aluminum and FRP structure and production processes including welding and lamination as it pertains to structures.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Conduct analyses on stability studies, assist with inclining experiments and weight and stability tests, and oversee design development.
- Experience with computer applications relating to naval architecture and ship design.
- Experience with corrosion principles of metals for surface assets and boats.
- Familiarity with USN, USCG, IACS and / or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
