PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervise, develop and mentor a team of payroll professionals.Oversee daily operations and perform administrative functions for the payroll department.Responsible for the development, training and mentorship of payroll team ensuring optimal performance.Leverage technology to gain efficiencies and accuracy.Remain updated on current and changing payroll related laws across multiple states.Update payroll policy and procedure documents.Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with Company associates, departments, and management.Establish and maintain effective business relations with vendors, outside auditors and regulators, and professional trade groups.Ensure compliance and resolve all issues related to state and local payroll laws and regulations including wage and hour laws, tax and other filings.Review annual W-2 preparation and quarterly and annual payroll tax return filings. Work with external payroll company as needed.Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.Assist with Workers Comp audits and related issues.Create and maintain a positive team environment, conduct routine team meetings, provide recognition, and celebrate successes.REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience Requirement(s) : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred8-10 years of experience processing high volume payroll required, including work with California wage and hour regulations3 years of supervisor / management experience required2+ years of high volume staffing industry experienceAcquisition integration experience a plusSystems integrations experience a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and laws requiredKnowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirementsUnderstanding of automated payroll applications such as Paycom, ADP, etc.Outstanding Customer ServiceMeticulous attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsInnate aptitude for problem solvingAbility to work both quickly and accuratelyTeam player attitudeCompensation : Base Salary : $120,000-$150,000 base salaryBenefits : Medical, Dental, VisionLife, LTD, Accident InsuranceEAP, Pet Insurance, Legal Insurance401(k) Retirement AccountPaid Time Off10 Vacation Days / year2 Floating Holidays / yearHolidays (8 days)80 hrs.
