The Post Award Analyst uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research administrator to manage high volume and high complexity transactions. The incumbent is part of the Post Award Team for the Department and is responsible for the full life cycle of post award management of ~$7M in extramural funds for ~13 researchers (faculty, postdoctoral scholars, fellows, and graduate students).

The responsibilities include exercising judgment and independently interpreting, analyzing, and advising the Principal Investigators and / or Department Manager for each fund regarding current and anticipated problems, as well as suggesting the best financial strategy for how the funds are spent within the framework of sponsor / university / department requirements.
The Post Award Analyst ensures spending is in accordance with institutional terms and conditions, verifies the accuracy of monthly ledgers, and resolves discrepancies with Contracts & Grants Accounting and others. The Analyst prepares and customizes bi-monthly financial reports primarily using the MyReports systems and PLUS Faculty Portfolio, supplemented with Excel reports, for each fund in order to provide a clear financial picture of the faculty's portfolio.
The Post Award Analyst submits funding entries and salary cost transfers in UCPath, prepares faculty salary worksheets, requests fund advances, establishes speedtypes and flexfields, and sets up new projects in RAS. The incumbent will also prepare financial journals and cost transfers related to the maintenance of their projects, as well as partner with pre-award staff to develop grant application budgets. This position reports to the Post Award Manager.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $81,000 - $121,600 (Annual Rate).
