This Jobot Job is hosted by: Mark C. Johnson Are you a fit? Easy Apply now by clicking the "Quick Apply" buttonand sending us your resume. Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year A bit about us: Our client is developing one of the most ambitious integrated energy campuses in North America — an 11 GW multi-modal generation platform designed to support next-generation industrial and computing infrastructure. This campus integrates gas-fired generation, nuclear monitoring interfaces, hypergrid architecture, cybersecurity systems, water treatment, hybrid cooling infrastructure, and AI-enabled operational intelligence into a single, unified ecosystem. At the center of this effort is the Centralized Command & Control Facility (C3F) — the operational brain of the entire campus. This facility will provide real-time monitoring, control, security, optimization, and future AI-enabled operational analytics across all generation and infrastructure assets. This is not an incremental expansion of existing infrastructure. It is a first-of-its-kind build, designed from the ground up. Why join us? Build Something That Does Not Yet Exist The C3F is not a retrofit or upgrade — it is a greenfield opportunity to architect and deliver an integrated command-and-control environment at gigawatt scale. Architect the Operational Brain of an 11 GW Campus You will define the control system architecture that integrates DCS, SCADA, BMS, OT/IT systems, cybersecurity, physical security, and advanced analytics into a unified platform. ⚡ Mission-Critical Impact This role directly influences safe, reliable, and accelerated execution of a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure platform. Executive Visibility & Influence You will work directly with senior engineering leadership and executive stakeholders, reporting progress on schedule, cost, risk, and system readiness. Compensation & Leadership Scope Target base range: $225,000 – $300,000+ depending on experience Performance incentives aligned to project delivery milestones Relocation support available High-autonomy leadership role in a technically ambitious environment This is a legacy-defining opportunity for a leader who wants ownership, speed, and scale. Job Details The Project Director – Automation & Control is responsible for full lifecycle delivery of the Centralized Command & Control Facility (C3F). This mission-critical facility will serve as the operational intelligence hub for an integrated 11 GW energy campus. This role is not a traditional project director position. It requires a senior technical leader with deep experience in industrial automation, integrated control systems, power generation environments, system verification and validation, and commissioning. Extreme ownership, systems thinking, and the ability to execute in a fast-paced build environment are essential. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Ownership Lead full lifecycle delivery of the C3F from architecture through commissioning and operational readiness Own schedule, cost, risk, and execution performance reporting to executive leadership Control System Architecture Define and implement integrated control architecture across DCS, SCADA, BMS, OT/IT, and security platforms Ensure secure, reliable, and scalable control across generation and infrastructure assets System Integration & Commissioning Oversee multidisciplinary integration across EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, and technology partners Lead verification, validation, commissioning, and handover to operations Establish rigorous system testing and performance standards Integrated Infrastructure Oversight Enable centralized monitoring and control of: Gas-fired generation assets Nuclear monitoring interfaces Hypergrid infrastructure Cybersecurity and physical security systems Water treatment facilities Hybrid cooling systems Future-Ready Data & AI Enablement Architect AI-ready data pipelines and operational analytics frameworks Support predictive optimization and long-term digital transformation initiatives Execution Excellence Drive accelerated delivery while maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory rigor Operate effectively in a startup-oriented, high-accountability culture Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline 20+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or instrumentation & controls delivery Demonstrated leadership delivering large-scale, mission-critical control environments Deep expertise in DCS/SCADA architecture, system integration, and commissioning Strong understanding of industrial cybersecurity and OT/IT convergence Key Attributes Extreme ownership and accountability Exceptional attention to detail Strong systems-thinking mindset Comfortable operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments Innovative, pragmatic, results-driven leadership style Interested in hearing more?
