Purchasing Coordinator (Procurement)
We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator (Procurement) to join our client's growing precision manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily manufacturing operations by purchasing raw materials, tooling, production supplies, and outside processing services. The Purchasing Coordinator will work closely with production, engineering, inventory, and suppliers to ensure materials are available to meet customer delivery schedules while maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.
Location: Carrollton, TX
Schedule: Monday Friday, standard business hours
Full-time, direct hire opportunity (not a temporary position)
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase raw materials, tooling, cutting tools, consumables, and production supplies to support manufacturing operations
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders while ensuring pricing, quantities, and delivery dates are accurate
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers while negotiating pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to ensure uninterrupted production
- Track open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries
- Coordinate outside processing services including heat treating, plating, anodizing, painting, coating, and other subcontracted manufacturing processes
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, and warehouse teams to prioritize purchasing needs and support production schedules
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing, and procurement documentation within the ERP system
- Review vendor invoices and resolve pricing, receiving, or invoice discrepancies with suppliers and accounting
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and continuous inventory accuracy improvements
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve supplier performance, and streamline procurement processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and customer service
Qualifications:
2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience supporting CNC machining, precision manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or metal fabrication operations strongly preferred
Working knowledge of raw materials, machining tooling, industrial supplies, and outside processing vendors preferred
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and purchase order management
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with vendors, customers, and internal teams
Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, team-oriented approach
High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
