Minimum Qualifications :

  • One (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, or other business-related field.
  • Answers to qualifying questions must be verifiable within the work and / or educational history.
  • Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Duties and Responsibilities : The Commission expects its employees to be courteous and respectful while assisting Commission customers and stakeholders, ensuring each encounter is as positive as possible. Employees should promptly resolve questions or problems relating to the Commission. its programs and / or fish and wildlife resources. Employees should seek to gain public support for agency objectives and programs by serving Florida's citizens in a positive and proactive manner and by listening to what the customer wants and striving to meet their needs. When appropriate, employees will explain the reasons for agency actions or decisions while communicating a consistent FWC point-of-view.

Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422. Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services

  • rules and FWC's invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.
  • Work at FWC is cross-functional meaning duties may cross division / office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC's organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.

    Asset Management :

  • Oversee annual inventory for Headquarters.
  • Coordinate, train and assist Divisional staff ensuring the annual inventory is completed by deadlines.
  • Coordinate reconciliation of unlocated items.
  • Verify and update property assignment form ensuring correct information is input into the Property Master File.
  • Coordinate permanent placement of barcodes affixed to assets
  • Serve as Headquarters Surplus Property Review Board Chairman.
  • Collect and coordinate surplus of electronic equipment with IT staff ensuring hard drives have been wiped clean of sensitive information.
  • Conduct routine inspections determining if property appears unused, dilapidated, antiquated and subject to surplus or other disposition.
  • Risk Management :

  • Responsible to oversee all aspects of the Equipment Damage / Accident Report process within Headquarters including working in coordination with Department of Management Services, insurance agencies and staff.
  • Complete annual cost evaluations of buildings throughout Headquarters.
  • Provide required forms to process and complete facility claims.
  • Serve as Headquarter point of contact and subject matter expert for all insurance issues.
  • Serves as coordinating point of contact for the completion of the annual FITS report for Headquarters.
  • Surplus of Mobile Equipment :

  • Coordinating surplus property sales with the Department of Management Services for motor vehicles and vessels.
  • Receiving disposal documentation from employees.
  • Forwarding the disposal documentation to DMS.
  • Providing titles and bills of sales for the items to be sold.
  • Providing sale data to the Revenue Section
  • Reconciling DMS sale records.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position :

  • Knowledge of property management principles and practices.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to develop various reports
  • Ability to direct record-keeping activities.
  • Ability to assign property numbers and lags.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Working Hours :

    5 Days, 8 : 00 A.M. to 5 : 00 P.M.

    Total hours in workweek : 40
