Job Description

General Summary Of Duties :

Warehouse Receivers are responsible for receiving and processing incoming goods and materials. Responsible for picking, filling, and delivering orders, managing and organizing stock, inventory cycle counts, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in the warehouse.

Role and Responsibilities : (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  • Preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule.
  • Receiving warehouse goods and materials (unload, pick, weigh, label, and store).
  • Perform inventory counts and keep quality standards high for audits.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization which includes mopping / sweeping.
  • Complete quality logs on incoming shipments.
  • Report any discrepancies.
  • communicate and cooperate with supervisors and team members.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including pallet jack and stacker.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements : (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and / or safety notices.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to complete receiving documents, requisitions, etc. and communicate, verbally and in writing, with supervisors, management, delivery services and other employees.
  • Answer the telephone and provide information as needed.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to calculate unit prices, process weight and measures, etc.
  • Ability to operate forklift, electric cart, manual jack, scale, and electric pallet jack to move merchandise.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal / external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and solve customer concerns.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to complete inventories and weights and measures.
  • Ability to work in awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate pallet jack, forklift, copier, and telephone to move general purchased merchandise.
  • Ability to deal with several problems requiring initiative and good judgment.
  • Ability to organize / prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision / multiple interruptions, exercise judgment and adapt instructions / directions from one assignment to another.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to staff. Assign and instruct all personnel in details of work. Observe performance and encourage improvement. Monitor workload and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
  • Keep your workstation neat and orderly.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Typical physical / mental demands

    Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, lift and / or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart weighing a maximum of lbs. on a continuous basis.

  • Ability to move and work throughout the kitchens for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to walk / stand and work 95% of shift walking a maximum of 8 miles.
  • Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders to stock merchandise.
  • Ability to work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot, cold, noisy, wet, and / or have presence of fumes (, diesel).
  • Ability to lift / carry merchandise weighing a maximum of 70 pounds to a height of 9 feet and a maximum of pounds to a height of 3 feet on a continuous basis.
  • Work in awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Typical Working Condition :

    May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and constant interaction with the general public.
