SUMMARY :

Merit Services is seeking a skilled Recycling Educator to join our client’s dynamic team in Vancouver. RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Create and provide captivating recycling education initiatives, seminars, and sessions for schools, local groups, enterprises, and the wider community.
  • Develop educational resources such as pamphlets, manuals, and multimedia materials to bolster efforts toward recycling and augment the general public’s comprehension.
  • Work together with your colleagues in different departments to create and execute recycling initiatives, events, and community involvement efforts aimed at promoting awareness and motivating people to participate.
  • Carry out evaluations and analyses of waste to pinpoint areas for advancement and offer suggestions for better recycling methods.
  • Act as a proficient source of information regarding recycling methods, techniques for minimizing waste, and the promotion of ecological sustainability.
  • Be responsive to public inquiries and offer assistance and encouragement regarding recycling procedures, appropriate waste disposal techniques, and participation in recycling initiatives.
  • It’s important to keep abreast of the latest updates in recycling education and waste management, such as evolving technologies and best practices for optimal results within the industry.
  • Create and sustain collaborations with educational institutions, community groups, and municipal institutions to improve the impact of recycling education initiatives.
  • Carry out continuous monitoring and assessment of the efficacy of recycling education programs and initiatives, while making necessary amendments to optimize their impact.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • One should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field like Environmental Studies, Education, Communication, or a comparable subject. Experience in teaching recycling can be accepted instead of having official education.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing educational programs or organizing outreach initiatives, with a preference for experience in the recycling or environmental sector.
  • The capacity to connect and energize a broad range of listeners, demonstrating superior communication and presentation talents.
  • Extensive understanding of recycling procedures, efficient waste-handling techniques, and principles of ecological endurance.
  • Capacity to produce educational materials by utilizing diverse mediums while demonstrating creativity and substantial information.
  • Excellent abilities in organizing and managing projects are necessary to design and implement educational programs focused on recycling.
  • An ardent enthusiasm for the promotion of sustainability, minimization of waste, and preservation of the environment.
  • The capability to operate both autonomously and cooperatively within a group setting.
  • A driver’s license that is valid and a willingness to travel to multiple locations in the Vancouver region as necessary. “
