A munical waste management division is seeking an Engineering Manager in Polk County FL. The Engineering Manager, P.E. role is responsible for overseeing engineering operations within the waste and recycling sector, managing project planning, design, and construction for solid waste facilities, including landfills, transfer stations, and resource recovery systems. This position supervises engineering staff, coordinates technical support for customer service and operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and liaises with government agencies. The role requires expertise in civil and environmental engineering, project management, and technical problem-solving. Candidates must have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (or obtain one within six months in Florida), a bachelors degree in engineering, and at least five years of experience in solid waste management or related engineering fields, including three years in a supervisory role. A masters degree and experience in groundwater monitoring, wastewater facilities, or environmental engineering are preferred.
