Job Description

Senior SAP Basis Engineers are responsible for providing technical support to client SAP basis systems. They handle the technical aspects of enhancing, updating, deploying critical changes, designing new solutions, and creating procedures in the SAP domain. They will report to the Principal Director of Application Support.

Job Duties

Perform project-based and production support responsibilities, including SAP system migrations, landscape refreshes, data protection (backup & recovery), high availability configurations, and ongoing SAP system maintenance activities such as performance management, patching, and problem resolution.
Collaborate within and outside the SAP department to determine best practices for future system landscapes.
Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for problem resolution, root cause analysis, procedures, etc.
Drive continual improvement in systems operations through collaboration with delivery and development teams.
Engage actively in root cause analysis in collaboration with software development and other delivery teams.
Execute against defined project goals.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience.

7+ years of experience as an SAP Basis engineer in a service provider or advanced IT organization operating in a 24 / 7 environment.

Solid experience administering the SAP HANA database.

Understanding of SAP security principles.

Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible.

Experience with configuration management and automation tools.

Familiarity with agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.).

Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.

Development experience with high-level languages such as Python or Java is a plus.

Experience with Sybase ASE is a plus.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Strong ownership bias.

Deadline-oriented and detail-oriented.

Base Salary : $120,000—$135,000 USD
