FRESNO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM

Position Title : Service Manager

Reports to : President

FLSA Status : Exempt

Position Summary : Position with primary responsibility for all Service personnel and all service departmental functions. Responsibilities include hiring, motivating, coaching, appraising, rewarding and disciplining, and addressing complaints and resolving issues of the employees in his / her department / division / location.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Ensure profitability of all assigned service departments.
  • Perform all management and leadership functions associated with the service departments including the coaching and development of service personnel to enable them to run the day to day service operations.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing all service department sales and marketing efforts to grow the company sales.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing processes to ensure and measure customer satisfaction. Includes personal development and maintenance of excellent relationships with top customers.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing all service department recruiting plans necessary to meet departments headcount needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that service departments meet all manufacturer required tools, training and processes (ex : Warranty)
  • Responsible for developing and implementing service department safety philosophy and processes and ensuring compliance.
  • Responsible for developing and meeting departmental budget / forecast goals and supporting business plans.
  • Responsible for full understanding and utilization of all business systems
  • Attend and participate in management meetings
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all manufacturers and vendor representatives.
  • In addition to the essential functions listed above, the employee is expected to exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible, and exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible.

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. High school diploma or GED; A minimum of 5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent of education and experience; Driver's license; Proficiency in the following computer software systems : Microsoft Excel and Word.

Machines, Tools, & Equipment :

Computer, Telephone and basis office equipment (copier, calculator, fax, etc.)

Working Conditions :

Primarily a controlled office environment. Extensive travel by automobile and some by airplane. Minimal overnight travel.
