Corporate Sales Managers would ideally have finished a bachelor's degree in a business-related area, such as Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration. A BA or BBA is often a baseline requirement for candidates. While general sales experience is appreciated, industry-specific experience is also considered an asset.

However, and though it isn't always common, some companies value considerable experience over their educational background, hiring individuals with proven expertise and results-driven past roles. It's estimated that between 3 and 10 years of experience is required in such scenarios, primarily if there is no college background to fall back on.

Organizational, marketing, leadership, communication, administration, and people skills allow Corporate Sales Managers to work effectively in a high-performance business environment. They tend to work a typical 9-to-5 office schedule and structure. However, sales jobs require extensive day-to-day, weekly, or monthly traveling to meet with existing or potential clients. They also attend industry events and trade shows, engage in speaking activities, and supervise Sales teams in other locations.
