Key Job Details – Springfield, IL Nursing Jobs Job Title : Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract Location : Springfield, IL 62781 Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center Unit : General Surgery (Med / Surg) Shift : 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (18 : 45 – 07 : 15) Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 29 / 2025 – End : 3 / 30 / 2026) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Charting System : Cerner Scrub Color : Any solid color Parking : Free with permit Estimated Weekly Pay : $2000 - $2050 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience Active Illinois RN license required BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) Proficient in PICC line management and IV starts Experience caring for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients preferred Ability to float to other units within scope Experience with Cerner charting preferred Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on a busy Med / Surg unit Manage patient ratios up to 1 : 7 as needed Perform PICC line management, IV starts, and blood transfusions Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and laryngectomies, including airway management and suctioning Conduct dressing changes, wound care, and wound vac management Administer medications and monitor patient responses Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care Float to other units within scope as required Discover the charm of Springfield, Illinois—known for its historical sites, beautiful parks, and welcoming Midwest community.
