Director of Nursing

Vivo HealthStaff is looking for a Director of Nursing for a Skilled Nursing Facility in Oakland, California.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• ​​​​​Direction of resident care in the skilled nursing setting.
• Manage nursing team members.
• Initiates the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the Nursing Services in collaboration with appropriate services. Participates in SNF planning, decision making and policy formulation at management meetings. Maintains regulatory requirements.
• Consults with staff and management team on nursing problems and interpretation of organizational policies to ensure resident needs are met.
• Establishes and maintains job specifications and descriptions for Nursing Services personnel in conjunction with the organization.
• Maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
• Assist in formulating budget.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Active California license
• at least 3 years of experience in geriatric care nursing
• Preferred certification in gerontology nursing
• Current BLS certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic to advanced computer knowledge required.
