About Family Centers Inc.
Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering health, education and human service program to children, adults and families in Fairfield County. Our team includes 300 professionals and over 500+ trained volunteers collaborate to provide our communities with a wide range of responsive and innovative services. Through our comprehensive network of services, more than 23,000 children, adults, families and communities receive the care, encouragement and resources needed to realize their potential.
History
Family Centers has a rich history of serving communities throughout lower Fairfield County dating back to 1891 with the creation of the Stamford Family Welfare Society. Over the years, Family Centers has grown into one of the area’s leading and most trusted providers of human service and education programs.
Healthcare Programs
A healthy community is one that thrives. Family Centers’ extensive network of primary medical, dental and mental health programs—along with education and support services—breaks down the barriers associated with accessing quality health care and empowers residents to make their communities stronger.
Education and Human Service Programs
Family Centers offers families a two-generational approach to closing the Opportunity Gap by addressing the needs of children, adults and families. Through a broad array of education and human service programs—including early childhood education, adult and family literacy, job training and financial coaching, and family supports—we empower community members to overcome barriers, achieve stability and build brighter futures.
The Opportunity
Family Centers, Inc. seeks a collaborative and empowering Chief Financial Officer (CFO), to provide financial expertise and help shape the future of our mission-driven work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a storied organization and collaborate with its stakeholders to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization’s financial health and sustainability, enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our impact in the community.
The CFO will oversee all financial operations, direct the agency’s fiscal strategy, and provide leadership to a finance team of approximately 12 FTEs. As a member of the Executive Team, the CFO reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
Serving as a key strategic partner, the CFO provides critical insights into organizational performance, leads enterprise-wide budgeting and forecasting, and ensures compliance with regulatory, accounting, and fiduciary standards. This position requires a visionary yet detail-oriented leader with strong organizational and team leadership skills, and deep expertise in financial management, revenue cycle optimization, and operational accounting in a mission-driven environment.
