GENERAL FUNCTION :

The Technology Finance Representative : Middle Market at Fifth Third Bank Equipment Finance is a role that requires documented success with C-suite level contacts. Responsible for profitable business development as well as monitoring the quality of an existing portfolio of companies within the assigned market segment and specific geographic area. This Technology Finance Representative position is part of Equipment Finance's Technology Finance sales team.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

As a member of our growing team, many of the Technology Finance Representative duties include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Prospect, source and originate lease finance transactions
  • Negotiate directly with end users for assigned market segment
  • Develop and maintain long-term sustainable business with minimum goals as established by the line of business
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, including programs to ensure corporate goals
  • Identify and properly qualify opportunities
  • Prepare formal presentations and proposals to executive levels, overcome objections and obtain closure
  • Understand and comply with company policy and work closely with back office and credit staff to facilitate transactions
  • Represent company at trade association meetings
  • Update personal knowledge by participating in industry related educational and networking opportunities
  • Various projects and other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

None

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting)
  • Minimum 3 years of proven success in equipment finance or related industry exceeding corporate goals or quotas
  • Verifiable extensive network of senior management contacts (C-level)
  • Knowledge of credit underwriting / financial analysis (FASB 13, cash flow, balance sheet and P&L effects of leasing are a plus)
  • Strong presentation, communication (verbal & written) and time management skills
  • Demonstrated record of high integrity and a strong sense of personal and professional ethics
  • Ability to thrive in a competitive environment
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

    o Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.

    o Extended time at desk and / or viewing computer screen.

    Compensation for this position is largely incentive-based. Incentive compensation is combined with either a base salary or a draw to determine total cash compensation, and incentive compensation is based upon company, line of business and / or individual performance.
