ABOUT THIS ROLE

Orchestra is seeking a Director of Learning & Development to join our Culture team. This role will focus on designing, facilitating, and scaling engaging development programs that help our employees lead, grow, and succeed. This person will report to the Head of Culture and work closely with cross-functional teams and leaders across the organization to embed learning throughout the employee journey.

This role is ideal for someone who brings a teacher's mindset, strong operational rigor, and a passion for cultivating inclusive, growth-minded workplaces. You'll manage the day-to-day of our L&D programs—facilitating trainings, managing vendors, and systematizing learning experiences—while helping shape a long-term development strategy for a dynamic, creative workforce.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the Director of Learning & Development, you will manage…

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Culture to define and execute a scalable L&D strategy aligned with company values and business goals.
  • Translate skill needs and cultural priorities into engaging learning experiences—onboarding, manager training, and leadership development.
  • Conduct needs assessments and learning diagnostics across functions to identify development gaps and opportunities.
  • Serve as the orchestrator of learning and development across our nine firms—harmonizing efforts, aligning initiatives, and acting as the connective thread that ensures coherence, clarity, and impact at scale.
  • Program execution & facilitation

Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of L&D programs, from design and delivery to feedback and continuous improvement.

  • Manage logistics and vendor relationships for training sessions, platforms, and tools.
  • Deliver dynamic training experiences across in-person, virtual, and hybrid settings, using a range of engaging formats such as toolkits, asynchronous modules, and lunch & learns.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate learning across the employee experience.
  • Measurement & insights
  • Define success metrics and gather feedback to measure program effectiveness and learner experience

  • Build reports and dashboards to track engagement, retention, and business alignment
  • Champion a culture of curiosity, growth mindset, and shared learning
  • Embed learning into daily workflows, fostering psychological safety, collaboration, and inclusive practices
  • Essential skills :

  • 8+ years of experience in learning & development, people experience, public relations, agency operations, organizational development, or related fields
  • Proven success in designing and executing scalable learning programs across different employee levels
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for employee development and cultivating inclusive, growth-minded cultures
  • Experience in a high-growth, evolving environment; familiarity with L&D tools (e.g., LMS, AI tools, survey platforms); and certification in learning design, coaching, or facilitation are a plus
  • WORKING AT ORCHESTRA

Salary (commensurate with experience and skills) : $145,000 - $165,000, plus eligibility for an end of year bonus based on firm, team and individual performance.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents
  • Pre-tax Health Savings Account Savings Plan (HSA-SP) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • 401K with a 4% employer match and no vesting period
  • Generous paid time off
  • Mobile phone reimbursement for data and minutes
  • Employer-funded life insurance
  • Discounted annual bikeshare membership
  • Corporate discounts through Tickets at Work
