Project Coordinator / Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Project Coordinator / Project Manager to oversee residential remodeling projects, especially kitchen and bathroom remodels. The ideal candidate will have deep construction knowledge, hands-on experience in remodeling, and proficiency using Buildertrend (or equivalent construction management software). This role bridges field operations, administration, and client communication to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Pre-Construction
- Review design drawings, scope of work, and specifications; identify missing information or potential issues
- Develop project schedules, budgets, cash flow projections, and resource plans
- Produce bid packages, solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals
- Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, and permitting authorities
- Input and maintain all pre-construction data (estimates, selections, allowances) in Buildertrend
- Lead or attend pre-construction meetings and site walks
Execution & On-Site Management
Oversee daily jobsite operations and supervision of subcontractors / tradesEnsure work is performed safely, according to code, design, and quality standardsProactively resolve issues, delays, or conflicts in the fieldMonitor schedule adherence and push to maintain milestonesTrack and manage change orders (identification, approval, documentation)Ensure materials, fixtures, and appliances arrive just-in-time to avoid delaysUpdate progress, daily logs, photos, and field notes in BuildertrendProject Administration & Financials
Track project cost vs. budget; identify and mitigate cost overrunsPrepare and issue invoices, pay applications, subcontractor paymentsEnforce contract terms and monitor subcontractor performanceMaintain complete documentation : RFIs, submittals, permits, inspections, warrantiesFacilitate client selections and log them in BuildertrendProduce close-out documents, final punch lists, warranties, and owner handoffClient & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as primary point of contact for clients : provide regular updates, manage expectations, respond to client questionsInterface with designers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure alignmentConduct periodic client walkthroughs during and after constructionCommunicate risks, contingencies, and project deviations to leadershipQuality, Compliance & Safety
Implement and enforce quality control standards and best practicesEnsure compliance with all local building codes, OSHA requirements, and safety policiesConduct site safety reviews and auditsAddress warranty items timely post-project completionQualifications & Requirements
Minimum 5 years of residential remodeling or construction experience (with at least 23 years in a leadership role)Demonstrated experience specifically in kitchen and bathroom remodelingStrong working knowledge of residential construction means, methods, materials, and detailingProficiency in Buildertrend (or equivalent construction / project management software) experience logging selections, change orders, daily logs, scheduling, etc.Excellent organizational, planning, and time?management skillsStrong communication skills both verbal and written (client-facing, subcontractor coordination)Ability to manage multiple projects concurrentlyAnalytical mindset : ability to read and interpret plans, budgets, and schedulesProblem-solving and decision-making capability under pressureLeadership and team coordination skills (ability to motivate, direct, and follow up with field teams)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)Valid driver's license; reliable transportationConstruction trade knowledge or experience with subcontractor oversightPreferred / Nice-to-Have
