BV's Energy & Process business focuses on generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of electric power, with involvement in renewables integration and HVDC / FACTS among other areas.
Key Responsibilities
Function as a technical Lead substation design engineer for FACTS projects (distribution, sub transmission and transmission level voltage classes).Utilize safety and regulatory standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, ISO / RTO) to define project requirements, review project deliverables (physical, P&C, power system design), and collaborate with owner and OEM resources.Conduct research to locate required white papers, brochures, publications, or standards when addressing non-standard design aspects.Convey technical information to project teams and stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.Lead internal discussions with the owner engineering team to close out technical or project management topics.The Candidate

Preferred Qualifications
PE LicenseSubstation Design – Physical & P&CQuality Assurance and Quality Control of substation design projects5+ years of electrical engineering experience with a focus on STATCOM / FACTSStrong knowledge of electrical systems, power electronics, and control systemsUnderstanding of civil, site, system studies, settings, and telecommunication designExperience with PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF or similar toolsRegulatory standards experience (IEC, IEEE, ISO / RTO, NEC, NERC, NESC)Excellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projectsStrong written and verbal communication, planning, and organizational skillsPeople management and leadership capabilitiesMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited programMinimum 5 years related work experiencePre-employment requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records check as applicable by lawWork Environment / Physical Needs
