Job Description

The Junior Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures whilst optimizing price, delivery, and terms.

Primary Responsibilities

Always exemplify the Alpine safety culture and serve as a role model for fellow employees in pursuit of an incident-free workplace.

Monitors stock levels to ensure adequate inventory.

Performs follow up on late deliveries and expedites shipments to support manufacturing and after-market sales targets

Reviews purchase requisitions for proper authorization.

Builds and maintains relationships with existing suppliers.

Resolves order discrepancies with suppliers

Collaborates with warehouse staff to manage inventory inflow and outflow

Analyzes purchasing patterns and suggest cost saving opportunities

Compile status reports according to the needs of the business

Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

Associates degree in related discipline, or advanced degree candidates will be considered based on experience. A combination of education and directly related experience will be considered in lieu of an AS degree

1-3 years of experience

Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, customers, and suppliers

Experience with Excel and Microsoft office

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

BS degree in related discipline

APICS CSCP and / or CPIM certification

Proven background in the understanding of the supply chain process in a manufacturing organization.

Advanced experience with Excel and Microsoft office
