Business Development Manager (Hybrid)
This position will be based at our corporate headquarters in downtown Richmond, VA. The Business Development Manager leads client / project origination activities for DVI Grid Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion Energy specializing in an Advanced Voltage Optimization software platform. This position's job duties include but are not limited to :
- Leads marketing content development and publishing efforts in collaboration with DVI technical team and clients; content may include technical white papers, case studies, press releases, industry-relevant social media postings and blogs, etc.
- Leads conference planning efforts in collaboration with DVI BD and Engineering teams; efforts include applying for speaking opportunities, developing and presenting information on our product, coordinating logistics, researching and preparing background material on high value targets, etc.
- Leads efforts associated with mining for and responding to RFPs issued by potential utility customers for voltage optimization, energy conservation, demand response, and other programs where DVI can provide a solution.
- Leads inside sales efforts to follow up with prospective clients to develop and close deals; presents information on our product; develops and presents proposals including pricing, value proposition, and statements of work; negotiates contracts.
- Builds and manages relationships with strategic marketing partners; supports prospective client presentations, proposals, and contracts as necessary to drive results.
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following :
7+ years of related business development experience is required, including experience with marketing content development / publishing, technical sales, contract negotiations, competitive evaluationsExperience in the electric utility industry; understanding of the Distribution Grid, including smart grid components, voltage regulation devices; knowledge of Energy Efficiency / Demand Response programs; insight into the energy regulatory environmentAbility to represent the Company in public forums; experienced presenter in front of small and large audiencesExcellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequently changing and emerging prioritiesAbility to handle sensitive company, vendor, and client account information with discretion and confidentialityEffective interpersonal and project management skills; accomplished relationship builder with team members and external partners, customers, and prospective customer contacts; experienced coordinating cross-functional teams to accomplish goalsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skills including MS Office products; experience with CRM application, preferably HubSpot; experience with microservices application architecture, development, or implementation is a plusEducation Level : Bachelor
