Responsibilities Work in an acute care setting on a combined Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, and Postpartum unit Cares for patients experiencing normal vaginal deliveries, repeat c-sections, preeclampsia, diabetes, and inductions Unit includes 4 L&D beds, 6 postpartum beds with 3 pediatric swing beds, and 2 triage beds Performs pre-op, circulating, and post-op care for c-section patients Titrates drips such as pitocin, insulin, and heparin Uses the Epic EMR system 12-hour night shifts with weekend requirements on an every other weekend basis Block scheduling is primarily used No floating required No on-call required, but staff may be placed on-call when staffing down Staff may be assigned patients across L&D, Postpartum, Nursery, and Peds / GYN populations as needed Charge nurse works around the clock and participates in patient assignments No nurse aids or surgical techs permanently on the unit; main OR provides assistance for cases Anesthesia coverage is provided 24 / 7 by CRNAs; OB / Neonatologist not continuously in-house Complies with AWHONN staffing guidelines when possible Purple hospital-laundered scrubs are required First-time travelers are accepted No local travelers are allowed within a 50-mile radius Must not have worked at any WVU Medicine location in the last 2 years Holiday coverage required according to Group A and Group B scheduling Requirements Active WV or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including labor experience with cervical exams and FSE / IUPC placement Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required Prior experience titrating relevant drips is required Must provide an unexpired Driver's License for consideration Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for eligibility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630145.
