Job Title : Engineer Intern New Product Development (NPD)

Location : Richmond, VA (Plant 2)

The role :

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to support New Product Development (NPD) of refrigerated merchandisers and Design to Value (DTV) cost reduction opportunities on existing product lines.

Responsibilities :

• Component and sub-assembly level part development using SolidWorks design software
• Validation of design concepts through mechanical and performance testing in coordination with Engineering Test Lab
• Integration of design for manufacture / design for assembly (DFM / DFA) methodologies through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering
• Application of value engineering methodologies to optimize new and existing product cost
• Internal and cross-functional communication to progress designs from concept to working prototypes
• Release of engineering documentation through change control process : models, drawings, bills of materials, etc
