The Senior Financial Analyst supports all forward-looking activity at the company. This person will collaborate closely with leadership and all levels of employees to help drive departmental and project accountability. The position requires strong financial knowledge and experience with demonstrated ability to provide insights and guidance by creating useful information out of data and good communication skills.
Senior financial analyst role will be tasked with providing accurate forecast of financial performance for the organization and drive the project setup and maintenance for the organization.
The major tasks, duties, and responsibilities are listed below.
- Perform daily general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Enter all change orders, new awards, and assign a project code to capture the costing data.
- Provide program management team with charge codes to capture costs for both direct and indirect projects.
- Prepare the closure for all completed projects.
- Prepare SOX documentation for independent auditors quarterly.
- Assist in the annual audit with the independent auditors.
- Enter and analyze monthly owner requisitions (accounts receivable, retainage receivable and contract revenue).
- Support project management team on project budgets and forecasts.
- Develop financial models and cost projections for material costing and revenue forecasting.
- Collaborate with the senior management team or the CFO on achieving company's long-term financial planning objective.
- Conduct an in-depth research of historical financial data; analyze and report company's current financial status
- Study investment options and present SWOT of the investments
- Forecast monthly, quarterly, biannual or annual profits and provide analytical review, feedback, and recommendation to executive management
- Run balance sheet account reconciliations, contract accounting and reporting, account analysis, accrual calculations, and any other related accounting or financial documents or schedules
- Train and mentor junior analyst and other staff on best financial practices
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related rolesStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and variance analysisProven ability to develop and maintain detailed financial models and forecastsExperience with project accounting, including change orders, job costing, and project setupWorking knowledge of SOX documentation and audit support requirementsAdvanced proficiency in ExcelStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively across departments and present financial insights to leadershipPreferred :
