Description : Job Summary :

Under general supervision, the Operating Engineer performs a variety of routine or skilled preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration, and modification of buildings, equipment, and facilities.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws.
• Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation and condition.
• Maintains records and determines malfunctions of equipment.
• Adjusts, disassembles, repairs, or replaces parts, and tests for proper operation.
• Reports serious problems to the Chief Engineer.
• Attends to boilers, heaters, and related equipment, making necessary adjustments.
• Tests boiler water and adds chemicals as necessary.
• Services and repairs HVAC and refrigeration equipment, replacing filters and fluids.
• Performs general maintenance and repairs on machinery, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Performs routine electrical maintenance, plumbing, welding, and manual duties such as moving supplies and replacing bulbs.
• Establishes and maintains courteous relations with personnel and the public.
• Performs other related duties as required and assumes additional responsibilities as directed.
