Job Description : Lead Cashier

Position Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cashier to oversee our cashiering team and ensure smooth and efficient operations at the checkout counters.

The Lead Cashier will be responsible for supervising cashiering activities, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate transaction records.

This position is ideal for individuals with cashiering experience and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and train cashiering staff and providing guidance on cashiering procedures.
  • Ensure that all cashiers adhere to company policies and procedures, including handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist cashiers with processing complex transactions, handling refunds, and resolving customer issues.
  • Monitor checkout lines and customer wait times to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records and prepare daily cash reports for management.
  • Assist in implementing and enforcing cash handling and security protocols to prevent theft or fraud.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with store management to address staffing needs, performance issues, and training opportunities.
  • Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and promoting a positive work environment.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in retail management is a plus.
  • Previous cashiering experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members.
  • Excellent numerical and math skills for handling cash transactions and reconciling cash drawers.
  • Proficiency in operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and basic computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing and cash handling.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Customer-focused attitude and problem-solving skills.
