JOB SUMMARY

As a Cook at Habit Burger & Grill, you’ll bring our food to life—from our famous Charburgers to fresh salads. You’ll rotate through kitchen stations like Fryer, Broiler, Make-Up, and Quarterback, learning each step of the process. We’ll train you on everything, including food safety and kitchen cleanliness, and help you grow your skills along the way.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Correctly prepare all foods served following standard recipes, working on several different orders simultaneously.
  • Restocks food items and kitchen supplies; stores and rotates food properly and safely.
  • Operate cooking equipment such as flat grills, char broiler, fryer, slicer, etc.
  • Comply with all established standards, including personal safety, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform.
  • Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment, cooking surfaces and utensils used in food preparation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds, but have the ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • This position will involve some repetitive motion tasks.
  • This position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job operates in a kitchen environment housed with equipment such as a char broiler, flat grill, slicer, and chef’s knives. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.
  • SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic math, reading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent teamwork attitude.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of experience in related food service position preferred.
  • Food Handler’s Card / Certification may be required according to local and / or state regulations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.
