NV5 is seeking an Engineering Technician for our Charlottsville, VA location. Responsibilities include monitoring activities on construction sites and performing testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials. A company truck, phone, and safety equipment will be provided at our office.

Responsibilities

Performs In-Place Density Tests using nuclear density gauge, drive sleeve, or sand cone method.

• Aggregate Sampling. Concrete / Grout / Masonry sampling (including : air content; slump testing; visual observations; casting samples of concrete cylinders, mortar cubes, and grout prisms; and obtaining core samples).
• Also may perform asphalt sampling, backscatter tests, and coring.
