Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of federal contracts, from proposal preparation and contract negotiation to administration and closeout.
- Review and interpret FAR / DFAR regulations, ensuring compliance with all federal contracting and legal requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other federal agencies.
- Prepare, analyze, and negotiate contract terms, conditions, modifications, and amendments with government representatives.
- Provide expert guidance on contract laws and regulations to internal departments, including program managers, legal counsel, and finance teams.
- Maintain organized and detailed contract files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible for audit or organizational needs.
- Monitor contract performance, manage deliverables, and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues or disputes.
- Stay informed of changes in contracting regulations and advise senior leadership of potential impacts on compliance or performance.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential impacts on operations and contracts.
- Support internal and external audits and reporting requirements related to federal government contracts.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in business administration, contract management, legal studies, or a related field (Masters degree or JD is a plus).5+ years of experience in federal government contract management with at least 2 years of direct experience with FAR / DFAR regulations.Hands-on experience managing contracts for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is required .Strong knowledge of federal procurement regulations, policies, and contract structures.Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with contract management software or platforms.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or equivalent certification is strongly preferred , but not required.
