Senior Electrical Engineer

What You Will Do :

GFT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building and Places Team that specializes in design of water and wastewater projects. This role follows a hybrid work model at either of our New York, NY, Mechanicsburg, PA, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA, Fairfax, VA, East Brunswick, NJ or Washington, DC offices.

What you'll be challenged to do :

Your day to day responsibilities will include managing electrical design, inspection, condition assessment projects for water and wastewater treatment facilities nationally.

Lead / Manage the preparation of electrical design criteria documents, electrical design directive drawings, electrical system calculations, electrical system technical analyses, electrical system contract design drawings, detailed specifications and performance based specifications for electrical power distribution and related systems.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

• Performing site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.
• Design of electrical systems including : low / medium voltage power distribution, standby / emergency generation, interior / exterior lighting for buildings and fire alarm systems
• Construction assistance including; electrical shop drawing review, contractor relations, and site surveys
• Supervise and mentor electrical staff comprised of engineers and designers
• Manage and regularly report on project performance, accruals and utilization
• Lead and participate in meetings clients utility service representatives and project teams.
• Deliver projects on time and within client budgets
• Deliver projects in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines
• Preparation of project specifications
• Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
• Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
• Perform quality work that promotes client retention

Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash

Compensation :

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
