Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (NP / PA) to join our growing Gastroenterology team at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA. This position will work directly with our board-certified Gastroenterologists, including those specializing in advanced endoscopy procedures, to provide comprehensive care to our patients. The APP will play a vital role in supporting our GI service line expansion while delivering exceptional patient care in an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- 7-On / 7-Off Schedule working in collaboration with a GI Hospitalist
- 12-Hour Day Shift
Clinical Care
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with gastrointestinal disorders under physician supervisionConduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical history and physical examinationsProvide pre- and post-procedural care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, including advanced interventionsInterpret and evaluate patient data, laboratory results, and diagnostic imaging to determine appropriate treatment plansAssist with endoscopic procedures and provide procedural support as neededManage both acute and chronic gastroenterological conditionsCollaborative Practice
Work under the direction and supervision of board-certified gastroenterologistsCollaborate closely with physicians specializing in advanced endoscopy and therapeutic proceduresConsult with supervising physicians on complex cases and treatment decisionsSupport inpatient consultations and hospital-based gastroenterology servicesRequired Qualifications
Education and Licensure
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant program requiredCurrent California NP or PA-C license in good standingCurrent DEA registration (or ability to obtain)Experience And Skills
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a clinical settingGastroenterology or internal medicine experience strongly preferredExperience with endoscopy procedures and GI patient care is highly desirableProficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systemsStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesPreferred Qualifications
