Power Distribution Make Ready Designer

As a Power Distribution Make Ready Designer at {EMPLOYER-DESC}, you will be responsible for the detailed design and planning of electric power distribution infrastructure adjustments and upgrades necessary to accommodate new service requests. This role requires precise coordination with utility companies, local government units, and other stakeholders to ensure existing infrastructure is prepared and available for enhancements. The goal is to maintain and improve power distribution efficiency and reliability while adhering to local regulations and safety standards. Design and layout of power distribution lines and equipment to accommodate new or modified service demands. Coordinate with multiple parties including utilities, civil engineers, and construction contractors to ensure design feasibility and compliance. Prepare and review detailed drawings and specifications for construction and modification of electrical distribution systems. Conduct site visits to assess space availability and current infrastructure status to accurately design make ready work. Estimate project costs, timeframes, and resource requirements. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and local codes. Document and maintain records of design specifications, project progress, and final outcomes. Proficient in CAD software and other design tools. Strong understanding of electrical power systems, particularly distribution networks. Effective project management and coordination skills. Ability to interpret and produce electrical system drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of applicable codes and safety standards in the utility industry.
