Purchasing Specialist

Location : Downtown Dallas
Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the coordination and tracking all U.S. co-packaging and rework product requirements throughout the business.
This position will ensure adequate supply by planning and executing timely and accurate inventory sourcing. You MUST be skilled in attention to detail and have worked with consumer product goods.
Job Functions
40% Support the coordination of all activities required for all WIP and rework projects, including MRP set
up and maintenance, establishing an accurate BOMs, developing packaging specs, issuing inventory and
part numbers, monitoring WIP completion and closing out WIP jobs
30% Support all tracking of display and rework projects, and component inventory ensuring appropriate
levels to support all recurring rework projects with a focus on retailer specific skus
- 15% Monitor and action WIP Planning file on a monthly basis, with interim updates as needed
- 10% Partner with supply planning to ensure timelines and expectations for replenishment are in alignment
- 5% Document processes; assist in developing and maintaining SOPs and work instructions to ensure
back-up support can effectively perform job functions in absence
May perform other duties as required
Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Associate Degree from a college / university, preferred
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in the fields of Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Logistics,
Production Control, Inventory Management and / or Master Planning / Scheduling required
Experience in a pharmaceutical and / or consumer packaged goods environment strongly preferred with
knowledge of industry standards for packaging
- Familiarity with manufacturing and production in a pharmaceutical environment dealing with lot codes and controls, FDA regulations, expiration dates, primary and secondary packaging
- Must be proficient with MS office software (e.g. Excel, Word) and have experience with reporting tools
- Experience in MRP systems; Oracle experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and Management
- Ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely completion in a constantly
changing environment
