Project Engineer

Selectek is seeking a Project Engineer to join a growing systems integration firm in the Indianapolis area. This role will serve as a key liaison between internal departments and external clients, primarily within the water / wastewater treatment industry. Candidates must bring hands-on experience in project engineering, including electrical design, implementation, and closeout of industrial control system projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the project lifecycle

Manage all phases of assigned projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation

Coordinate with internal design and production teams to ensure successful project execution

Design and review control systems including control panel layouts, power supplies, motor and PLC loads, and system integration

Assist in developing bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, submittals, and O&M manuals

Participate in graphic reviews, factory testing, startup, and training

Provide technical support to field services, service coordinators, and support engineers

Review and approve support engineers’ work and help define their task scope

Communicate project status effectively with clients, managers, and internal stakeholders

Ensure compliance with company standards and timelines

Assist with change orders, invoicing, and client add / deduct scope management

Required Qualifications :

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar technical role

Associate degree (2-year) in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline

Proficiency with electrical CAD software

Experience with panel boards, instrumentation, and system integration

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to new technologies

Preferred Qualifications :

AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical proficiency

Water / Wastewater industry experience is strongly preferred

Certifications or formal training in industrial automation or systems integration

Salary : $95,000 – $105,000+ (Depending on experience and qualifications)

Employment Type : Direct Hire

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM (1-hour lunch; 7–4 schedule optional)

Travel : Occasional local travel; rare overnight stays (fully reimbursed)

Work Environment : On-site highly preferred; remote flexibility possible for highly qualified candidates
